Wiley Nominated for 2021 AIB QLD Construction Award

Wiley is excited to announce that we have been nominated for a 2021 Australian Institute of Building award.

The Australian Institute of Building (AIB) has a long and proud history of supporting individuals who contribute to the well-being of both the institute and the building profession. For more than 50 years the Institute has recognised these individuals, providing awards at different levels. Wiley Project Manager, Zane Taylor has been nominated for the completed project, Queensland Health Modular Theatre at Toowoomba Hospital. Zane has been nominated in the awards due to the ways he was able to successfully manage the project during the global pandemic. Zane adapted to these changed requirements through the close implementation of a COVID Management Plan.

The project consisted of the refurbishment of Queensland Health’s existing facilities at Toowoomba Hospital. The hospital was experiencing significant growth, driving the requirement to install a a modular operating theatre concurrently with a refurbishment of the existing fire services, both in an operational hospital environment over the period of 33-weeks.

Wiley’s CEO, Rob Barron said, “We are very proud of Zane and the entire project team for their work on this project. The Toowoomba Hospital project for QLD Health was very unique. Working in an operational hospital environment has challenges, and when you add to that the implications of working under COVID regulations, Zane and the team did a fantastic job. Best of luck to all the entrants in the AIB awards.“

In 2020 Wiley was proud to take home three AIB awards for Fareshare, Gundagai Meat Processors and Ridley. You can read about these here.

Wiley is honored for the recognition and nominations for this award. The AIB awards will be held later in the year in Queensland. Wiley congratulates all the nominees for 2021 and wishes them the best of luck.
